Creating art that is down-to- earth and has universal aesthetic appeal brings Joy and calm into my creative process and also into my being.
My paintings reflect a balance between intuition and structure, beauty and expression, realism and the abstract, thus aligning art with my basic values.
Since life itself is my basic resource base, most of my subjects are from there, and my process weaves together these nuggets in a web of stories. I, thus, invite the viewer to pause, reflect and connect with the soulfulness of the piece so the emotion that is evoked is of happiness, and peace within.

About:
Minnoo Singh was born in New Delhi, India to an Army couple, both with a creative side to them as well. What they also passed onto Minnoo was an open-mindedness that enabled her to adapt to any kind of environment or situation.
Minnoo’s own profession as an educationist and her role as am Army wife herself, kept her in the midst of a creative milieu with multiple opportunities to display her artistic talents. It became an effortless transition for her to now, at 58, change her lifestyle and be a full time artist. She took various courses and before she realised it, she had applied for a complete booth at a well-reputed exhibition at Bombay! “What a wonderful experience that was! I felt I had entered the world of artists. I also felt the need to explore further and deeper.” That is when Minnoo decided to enrol with the Milan Art Institute for their Mastery Programme and started working towards her graduation experimenting, introspecting, working on her process, her style and connecting with her voice. “What I paint must bring beauty and value to the life of the viewer. My brushstrokes allow me the freedom to create art layered in the richness of colour, powered with the intensity of emotional connect. “
Minnoo’s passion for art is shared by her ten year old granddaughter who keeps feeding her with artwork to collage with! She’s now waiting for her grandson to follow suit. With a family that is supportive and encourages her to excel, she is not only on a journey that is creative but one that takes her across the world, across horizons.
Process:
Layers of experience, of emotions, of life happenings reflect in my choice of supplies, colours, subject matter and my process. I use mixed media, building layers and textures that lend strength and character to my work, and make my brushstrokes expressive, while blending these in interesting ways. These also serve as reminders that there are ups and downs we all experience in our lives that create patterns, pretty at times, laden with lessons at others.
The spontaneous, bold strokes connect me to my emotions of the moment, and bridge the gap between me and my self, although always in tandem and harmony with the environment.
